Oyster Point Family Practice has a team of knowledgeable, dedicated and professional doctors and nurse practitioners working together to create healthier and happier patients. They have combined experience of 58 years practicing family medicine and remain informed about new medications and therapies.
Dr. O'Neal received his Bachelor's Degree from Asbury College in 1977 and his M.D. from the University of Kentucky in 1981. He specializes in comprehensive preventative care and uses every visit to perform a "head-to-toe" exam. He truly enjoys working with his patients and is greatly fulfilled by making a difference in their lives.
Dr. O'Neal started Oyster Point Family Practice in 1987 and many of his patients have been with him for decades. He has been married to his wife, Kim, for 32 years and they have four grown children.
Dr. Robeson is a native of Newport News, Virginia. He graduated from Tabb High School and earned his Bachelor's Degree from Old Dominion University right here in Norfolk, Virginia. He received his M.D. from the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond. After completion of his medical degree he returned to Newport News for his family practice residency and training at Riverside Regional Medical Center.
Dr. Robeson is very knowledgeable about lipids, treating diabetes and migraines, in addition to remaining current on many diseases and treatments. In his spare time, he also serves as a Medical Examiner for the surrounding area.
He and his wife, Tracy, have three grown children and a golden retriever. He enjoys tinkering with personal computers, shooting sports and is an avid fan of Star Trek. Also, he is very active in his church, Bethel Baptist, singing in the choir, serving as a Deacon and occasionally teaching Sunday School.
Denise H. Chernitzer, CFNP, CPNP is a Certified Family Nurse Practitioner and a Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. She joined Oyster Point Family Practice in 2007. She received her Master's of Nursing degree from Old Dominion University and continued her education at George Washington University. Denise focuses on treating women and children of all ages.
She is married, a mother of four children and has four granddaughters. She enjoys ODU sports, especially basketball and is active in her church. She also enjoys reading, knitting and traveling.
