Eva M. Francis, MSN, AGPCNP-C, CDP

Eva Marie Francis, MSN, AGPCNP-C, CDP is the newest addition to our team of Medical Providers.  Eva is a Primary Care Nurse Practitioner additionally certified in Adult Geriatric Care and is a Certified Dementia Care Practitioner.  Eva earned her Master of Nursing degree in 2019 from South University in Virginia Beach, Virginia and received her Board Certification in Adult Geriatric Primary Care medicine shortly thereafter.  Eva has been working as a Primary Care Nurse Practitioner since she completed her certification.  She has years of experience in multiple healthcare settings including as a Visiting Physician providing primary care to homebound patients including those in underserved communities.  Functioning in this capacity, she was also responsible for not only acute symptom management, but also chronic care management which includes diabetes, congestive heart failure, hypertension and many other chronic diseases.

 As a Geriatric NP, she helps her patients and their families by initiating and formulating individualized plans of care for those patients nearing their end of life and in need of hospice care.  Eva has extensive experience and a wealth of knowledge regarding primary/family care and the treatment and management of acute and chronic illnesses, proper immunization schedules, women’s health and medication management. 

As an RN for many years, Eva also has spent time as a Hospice Nurse, Hospice Director, a Hospital Chaplain, a Hospital Case Manager, a Nurse Manager, and a Director of Operations for a Family Practice.  Additionally, Eva and her husband, Dr. Richard Francis helped found and operate two separate organizations dedicated to palliative and integrative medicine and providing hospice care.  She also created and operated a medical staffing service for several years. 

Eva is married and she and her husband have five grown sons, seven grandsons and a granddaughter.  She is also active in her church and serves on the boards of several non-profit organizations and is involved in several nursing and healthcare provider associations.  In her free time, she and her husband can be found hopping from one sports field to the next as they watch their grandchildren play baseball and other team sports.  Eva also enjoys reading, spending time with her family and serving her community.  Eva is ACCEPTING NEW PATIENTS!  Please call Oyster Point Family Practice at (757) 873-2000 TODAY to schedule an appointment with Eva Francis, MSN, AGPCNP-C, CDP!
